Work with your recovery coach to explore what works for you
Building Insight and Self-Awareness
I work alongside participants to help them build a deeper understanding of themselves, their mental health, and the systems that support them. This includes unpacking NDIS plans, identifying what recovery means to them, and acknowledging strengths, challenges, and goals. My role is to listen without judgment, validate lived experiences, and support participants to explore their identity, values and needs — at your own pace.
Creating a Roadmap for Recovery
Together, we co-create a personalised plan that aligns with each participant’s goals, needs and preferences. This may involve identifying short and long-term recovery goals, building routines, understanding available supports, and working out how best to use their NDIS funding. Whether it’s working toward stable housing, increased social connection, or greater independence, planning is collaborative and flexible, adapting as needs change.
Strengthening Skills, Confidence and Independence
Recovery is about creating space for growth, connection and purpose. I support participants to develop their skills, self-advocacy, confidence, and independence in ways that feel meaningful to them. This might include linking with community services, building coping strategies, practicing communication skills, or exploring self-care. The goal is to empower each person to shape their life on their own terms.
A recovery coach does not replace your mental health team. Your coach may help you implement strategies or goals and will help you understand and grow your recovery network, not replace existing services.
