Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach me at hannah@myrecoverynetwork.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A recovery coach is a specialised NDIS support who works alongside people with psychosocial disabilities to support their recovery journey. Recovery coaches help you set goals, build independence, navigate services, and live a meaningful life — in your own way and at your own pace.

I am currently taking a handful of new clients. Please contact me to arrange a time to meet.

This service is for NDIS participants with a psychosocial disability — meaning a disability that arises from a mental health condition and affects your day-to-day functioning. You may experience challenges with things like communication, social connection, motivation, or daily living. If you’re unsure whether recovery coaching suits you, talk to your plan manager or I'm more than happy to chat.

Support coordinators help connect you with NDIS-funded services and support you to understand and use your plan. Recovery coaches also do this, but with a specific focus on mental health recovery. They take the time to understand your story, collaborate with clinical and community supports, and walk alongside you on your recovery journey.

Absolutely. You have the right to choose who you work with — and that includes your recovery coach. It’s important that you feel safe, heard, and understood. I encourage you to ask questions, get to know me, and decide if I'm the right fit for your journey.

I offer recovery coaching that is:

  • Person-centred and trauma-informed
  • Built on strong values of empathy, collaboration, and empowerment
  • Tailored to your unique journey - not a one-size-fits-all model
  • Backed by professional expertise in mental health nursing and recovery research

BUT - I might to be for you, and that's okay! Reach out and see if we could work together.

If you have a NDIS plan for your psychosocial disability, you will likely have a funding category for support coordination.

In your NDIS plan, you are likely eligible for recovery coach services (typically allocated funds between 30-80 hours a year), which is around 1-2 hours a week. My Recovery Network follows the price guide as per the NDIA price agreements, which states that Recovery Coaches cost $105.43 per hour (rates change depending on the time and day of the week, that comes from your NDIS Plan.

No — recovery coaching is an optional support. If you have psychosocial disability supports in your plan, you may be eligible for a recovery coach. It's your choice whether you want to include it, and we can help you explore if it’s the right fit for you. There are no lock in contracts, you can cancel at any time. Finding a recovery coach you feel best meets your needs is the priority.

Yes - I offer flexible options including in-person (where available, Sydney based), phone, and video sessions via Zoom. This allows you to get support in the way that works best for you.

We can support you to:

  • Set and work toward your recovery goals

  • Understand and use your NDIS plan

  • Connect with mental health, housing, employment, education, or financial services

  • Build daily living skills and confidence

  • Strengthen your voice and advocate for your needs

  • Maintain supports during periods of distress or crisis

  • Stay connected with the people and services that matter to you

No referral is needed. If you’re an NDIS participant with recovery coaching funding, or you're exploring adding it to your plan, you can contact us directly. We’ll guide you through the next steps.

The number of hours depends on your individual plan and needs. Some people choose weekly sessions, others prefer fortnightly check-ins. We’ll work with you to find a rhythm that works for your lifestyle and goals. Typically, the NDIS indicates that included recovery coach hours range from 30 to 80 hours per year, depending on the individual. This would typically be 1-2 hours of support per week.
